Bowlers not chicken to go for a run
The ATKV Business League will start this Thursday evening.
Unfortunately, the Suzette Cup did not take place this last Saturday due to a lack of entries from the neighbouring clubs and has been postponed to a date which is yet to be confirmed. This did, however, give members a chance to play for chickens on Saturday afternoon. It was wonderful to have 26 bowlers take to the greens in beautiful Spring conditions. A total of 15 ends were played with Dougie, Essie, Willie and Ashleigh winning the day with a shot difference of +12 over Dirk, Dora, Lesley and Tannie Alida. Rita, Greg and Phillip took second place with a shot difference of +6 over Anna, Hans and Louisa. Third place went to Lyn, Stoney and Elsie who ended up with a shot difference of +3 over Cheryl, Brian and Sheryl. Prize-giving was completed just in time for the rugby match which was screened on the “big screen” and in true South African style a braai was enjoyed after the match to celebrate the Bokke win.
ATKV Business League
The ATKV Business League will start this Thursday evening. It’s wonderful to report that the response have been amazing, entries have poured in and plans are being made to hopefully accommodate more teams. Please remember that the ATKV will be collecting non-perishable items for the NCVV Service Centre in Glencoe as well as pet food for the Dundee SPCA, so please bring along a non-perishable food item or pet food which will be distributed to the beneficiaries. Remember too that dinner will be for sale on each of the nights. A wine auction will take place on the last night which will be October 25. Contact Dougie Slabbert 082 934 4547 or Greg 082 924 7788 for more info.
