The 2018/19 cricket season started this weekend on Sunday in perfect weather. The first game was between Aster XI battling it out with Farhaan Hardware (FH) in a 50 over game.
Aster won the toss and elected to bowl first and set to take advantage of the cool morning conditions.
Aster bowlers performed well and kept things tight without giving away too many extras and held FH to a modest score of 137 all out.

The pick of the bowlers for Aster was Scelo Mlaba who took four wickets for only 30 runs during his spell.
The best batsman for FH was Amin with an aggressive 47 not out and this was arguably a match winning performance and ultimately the difference in the end.

Aster came out with intent to chase down the score of 137 but although valiant, lacked any meaningful partnerships or individual performances and this saw them skittled all out for only 96 runs as the FH team was taking all their chances.

FH won the game by 41 runs.
Best bowlers for FH was Mohammed Ali with three wickets for a mere 19 runs and Naeem also taking three wickets but for 24 runs during their spells that toppled the dangerous Aster batsmen in a tight and fiery spell of bowling.
