Busy weekend at the Estcourt Golf Club
On Sunday, Estcourt 1 came close to a clean sweep against Sakabula, winning 11-1
This past weekend Estcourt Golf Club had a very busy weekend of golf.
On Saturday the club hosted the monthly Mortimer Toyota Mug and on Sunday the final round fixture of the Midlands League.

George van Niekerk, who’s been counted out twice already this year into second place, made sure this time round by being the only golfer on a nett 65 and winning the October Mug.
Second on a nett 66 went to Shane Mothilal and on a four way count out for third on a nett 70 Arnold Boettiger.
George also won the Stableford section on 43 points, Shane second on 42 and Gareth Le Roux third on 40 points. Bruce Marx won the closest to the pin on number three and Gail Boettiger the closest for two on number two.

On Sunday, Estcourt 1 came close to a clean sweep against Sakabula, winning 11-1, with Dave Diedrick, Bruce Marx, Rishi Goondram and Deejay Ramdhav. Both foursomes were won, all singles won too, except for Bruce who halved his match.
Estcourt 2 had a tougher day in the field; they took on Bosch Hoek 2, who ended up being the overall league winners.
Gordon Smith, Philip Boshoff, Shaun Hughes and Ledlie Hume were all taught a golfing lesson by the league winners going down 10-2, with the only points coming from Ledlie, who won his singles.

This coming Saturday the club will host a fundraiser golf day for Spirit Filled Ministries, that is raising funds for their roof repair. Supper is included and some great prizes are up for grabs.
