Golfers brave the weather in support of Dundee Pre-Primary

Forty-five golfers braved the consistent rain and cold weather on Saturday in support of Dundee Pre-Primary School golf day held at Dundee Country Club.
The better ball scramble drive format definitely suited the longer hitters of the golf ball which saw Brett Meyer and his partner, Cameron Fogg, taking top honours for the day after scoring 47 points. Gene Robson and Churchill Maphanga finished in second place on 45 points, with Dave Donaldson and Wessel Odendaal taking home the third place prize on 44 points.
Brett Meyer also won the prize for ‘closest for two’ on the 18th hole, while his brother-in-law Tim Catlett won the Men’s longest drive on the 17th hole. Hlengiwe Hlongwane took home the ladies longest drive prize.
The novelty prizes for nearest the pin on the short holes went to, Gene Robson on No.8, Cameron Fogg on No.12 and Aaron Mbatha at the 16th hole.
The day also saw Fed Auto host their Drive 4 Your School campaign for Dundee Pre-Primary and several drivers braved the wet weather to take advantage of the offer to drive the latest models with the Ranger being a favourite! Remember: the FedAuto Drive 4 Your School at the Uelzen Colour Fest, bottom of Smith Street, on October 27 and again at Dundee Pre Primary’s street carnival on November 3.
The KZN Men’s Inter-Club takes place this coming weekend down the South Coast, and for the first time, Dundee C.C. has entered six teams, so eighteen Dundee golfers will be leaving on Wednesday to compete in this annual event and we wish them all the best for the weekend.
Saturday, October 20, Club competition will be played in the I.P.S. format.
