Golfers support the fishermen

Fixtures for this week; Dave’s Wednesday 10 hole competition and Saturday, November 3, is the Monthly Mug Medal for November.

This past Sunday saw 43 golfers turn up on a lovely hot spring day at Dundee Country Club in support of the Dundee Angling Club’s fund raising golf day.
Winning the I.P.S. competition with an excellent 40 points was none other than our greenkeeper, Jo Khumalo, followed by one of his course staff. John Zulu on 38 points, with Issy Adam taking home the third place prize with 37 points.
Rob Streak won the prize for the best senior golfer, while W. Husselman won the prize for the best junior player and Hlengiwe Hlongwane for the best lady golfer.
Novelty prizes for nearest the pin on the short holes went to; N. Patterson No.4, W. Bezuidenhout No.8, S. Ballim No.12 and C. Maphanga on the 16th hole.
Saturday’s club competition, a 4 B.B.B.S. event, saw a disappointing eighteen golfers taking part which was won by Vlooi Slabbert and her partner Sonja Du Plooy on 44 points. Congratulations to Sonja for winning her first competition after just recently receiving an official handicap. Danie Von Molendorff and Willie Maritz won the count out on 43 points to take home the second place prize. Dan Scholtz was the only player to record a 2 Club on the day and earn himself some extra beer money.

Hlengiwe Hlongwane was the best lady golfer on the day. She received his trophy from Corne Barnard.
Willem Husselman won the prize for the best junior player. He received his trophy from Corne Barnard.
