Umtshezi Town Team back to winning form
Ladysmith found themselves in all kinds of trouble during an excellent bowling attack from Prenay Kewalpersadh
Umtshezi Town Team hosted Ladysmith (NDCU) in an Inland Promotional 50 over match On Sunday. Umtshezi won the toss and sent in the NDCU team to bat first. Showing some of the form that took Umtshezi to last year’s play-off finals, wickets soon started to tumble.

Ladysmith found themselves in all kinds of trouble during an excellent bowling attack from Prenay Kewalpersadh, taking two wickets for 25 runs in five overs and Anas Patel with one wicket for 13 runs off five overs; leaving the visitors on 23/3 with much bowling still left in the Umtshezi attack.
The Captain turned to Suvedh Ramprith and Muhammed Ali who did not disappoint. In a fiery spell of bowling, Suvedh in nine overs took three wickets for only 23 runs. Muhammed took two wickets for only five runs in six overs bowled and that had the visitors shell shocked on 51/7 after 23 overs played.

The innings was shortly rapped up with NDCU all out for 83 runs in the 28th over. Best batsmen for NDCU was S Ali and S Hoosen each scoring 15 runs. Umtshezi, not needing to score more than two runs per over to win the game, started off slowly and had an early loss of wicket with Prenay Kewalpersadh falling victim to O Jessop, who was surely the pick of the NDCU bowlers.

The scoring rate increased with Divek Ramdhav scoring 15 (31) backing up his partner Sami Ullah scoring 43 (36) not out.
This took out any sting in the NDCU bowlers and left little for Trivashin Sewraj to do, scoring 21 (27) and winning the game with bonus points in the 18th over by eight wickets. Best bowler for NDCU was O Jessop with one wicket for 10 runs in four overs bowled.
