Large turn-out for Dundee Bowling Club Pairs

The Club calls on the public of Dundee to come down to the Club this Saturday, you can try your hand at bowls, donate R100 which will go towards food parcels for the needy in our town, there will be a jumping castle for the kiddies, lots of food to buy etc.

The Men’s and Ladies Club pairs were played in sweltering conditions this past weekend.
A total of six ladies teams and eight men’s teams entered the competition making it a total of 28 players who took to the greens on Saturday morning.
The ladies competition was played in a round robin format with the men playing in two sections of four with the winners of each section going through to the final on Sunday. At the end of the five games played for the weekend, it was Rita and Taryn who were crowned ladies champions, not losing a single game and therefore accumulating the most points. In the Men’s competition, it was Dougie and Dirk and Greg and Brian who went through to the final on Sunday. Dougie and Dirk were just too good for Greg and Brian, winning the final 21-10 and therefore earning themselves the title of Club Men’s Pairs Champions. Congrats to the winners and congrats to the members on yet another successfully run competition especially to Jacques who ran his first competition as competitions secretary.
Tri-Star Business League
The Tri-Star Business League kicked off this past Thursday evening. A total of eight die-hard teams have entered. The leaderboard after the first round of two games as follows: Langfontein 4 +15; Cartoon Network 3 +15; The Hesoms 3 +7.
Another round of two games will be played this coming Thursday evening. Come down to the Club, bring along your basket and enjoy the evening with us.
Family Day
This coming Saturday the Club will be hosting a bumper family day in aid of the Churches of Dundee.
A wonderful programme of events has been put together for this day which will also showcase bowls as a family sport and a sport for all ages.

The Bokke vs Scotland rugby game will also be screened on the “big screen” with a bring and braai afterwards. The Club looks forward to hosting you all this coming Saturday…it’s going to be fun!
