Sifiso crowned Charlies Super Spar Open Champion

Congratulations to Dundee golfer, Sifiso Kunene, for shooting rounds of 70 and 74 for a total of 144, two shots clear of S. Maphanga from Utrecht G.C, to be crowned the 2018 Open Champion.

Sifiso Kunene was crowned Open Golf Champion on Sunday and was congratulated by the golf club's Barry Sandy and Richard Catlett.

Fifty golfers took advantage of the cooler weather conditions on Sunday to enjoy a great day’s golfing in the Charlies Super Spar Dundee Open Champs played over 36 holes.

Dundee C.C. thank George and Jane Adalis for their generous sponsorship and continued support in making our Open Golf Day a huge success.

2018 Open Champion

Congratulations to Dundee golfer, Sifiso Kunene, for shooting rounds of 70 and 74 for a total of 144, two shots clear of S. Maphanga from Utrecht G.C, to be crowned the 2018 Open Champion. Zaheer Adam, also a Dundee member, finished in third place with a total of 148.

Best Net Score – A Division

Lala Govender picked up the prize for the best net score in the A division with John Zulu finishing in second position.

Best Net Score – B Division

The B division was won by Issy Adam, who managed to beat Deon Sadaw on a count-out after both players finished with a gross score of 167. Club Captain Richard Catlett took home the third place prize after shooting 170 over the 36 holes.

The net prizes in the B division went to Blessing Chiwaya from Vryheid G.C. and I. Goordeen playing out of Kilbarchan G.C.

Better Ball Competition

Saturday’s club competition saw only a dozen players taking part in the Better Ball competition which was won by the lady pairing of Vlooi Slabbert and Sonja Du Plooy on 43 points.

Hlengiwe Hlongwane and Debbie Catlett were two of the ladies who competed on Sunday during the Charlies Super Spar Open Golf competition.

The Dundee C.C. will be a hive of activity this coming Friday as they host the 9th Corporate Classic golf day with almost 150 golfers competing from as early as 7.30am.

They will not only enjoy a tasty burger from Battle Creek Spur at lunchtime but also a succulent spit braai for dinner while they sing and dance the night away with the live entertainment by Durban duo, The Leprechauns.
