Amajuba take it to the wire to claim thrilling win over Estcourt
Best bowler for Estcourt was Lloyd with five wickets for 42 runs in his 10 over spell
On Sunday, Estcourt Town Side hosted Newcastle (Amajuba) in a 50 Over KZN Promotional league match. Amajuba won the toss and sent in the hosts to bat first.
Estcourt lost an early wicket with the score 1/1 after the first over but Prenay Kewelparsad, scoring 29 (31) and Sami Ullah, scoring 29 (29) put together a 57 run partnership to keep the hosts in the game.

Prenay, scoring 29 (31), would go out caught from a miscued shot and later Sami, scoring 29 (29), would be trapped in front LWB that brought in Muhammed Munir, with a top score of 85 (90) together with Muhammad Ali, scoring 30 (74) and this would see the host past 200 and into the 40th over.
Amajuba decided to take some pace off the bowling attack bringing back in Divan Geel and he soon got into the wickets trapping both M Ali and M Munir in front leg before wicket (LWB). Divan would rack up another three wickets to get five for the match for 21 runs and was the ultimate factor that had Estcourt all out for 227 in the 46th over.

Amajuba started off strong and the opening pair put together 76 runs before Anas Patel removed S Gori for 19 (38) and his partner S Bhula 39 (46), leaving the visitors on 81/2. Lloyd Ramdeen, Anas Patel and Trivashin Sewraj took the next wickets cheaply and the visitors had all to play for with the game in the balance with Amajuba on 165/7 in the 35th over.
It came down to the last three overs with only one wicket to spare with the difference being the 57 run eighth wicket partnership of Q Griffiths not out with 21 (47) and M Ansar scoring 27 (33), before losing his wicket to Lloyd Ramdeen that helped the visitors over the line in the 47th over with their total of 227/9 and winning the match by one wicket.

On Friday, Farhaan Aluminium (FA) played a T20 Night match against Farhaan Hardware (FH). FA won the toss and decided to bat first.
The writing was on the wall early and spectators were set for some big hits with the first ball being sent back over the fence.
FH would get a few wickets before the fifth wicket partnership of 105 runs that would take FA to 185/5 in their allotted 20 overs. Top batsman for FA was Nadeem with 78 (40) cracking five maximums and M Munir scoring 37 (38).
Best bowler for FH was Imran taking two wickets for 27 runs in his four overs.
FH seemed on par with the chase needing over nine runs per over and had starts by two of the top four batsman but could not keep up the high run rate with some committed fielding and sharp bowling from the FA team. FH would ultimately fall short and managed a decent 154/6 after the 20 overs were up giving FA the win by 31 runs.
Best batsman for FH was M Ali scoring 45 (39) with FA best bowler being Changaiz Khan, taking two wickets for only 17 runs in his four overs bowled.

On Thursday, Aster played a T20 Night match against Farhaan Brick and Block (FBB). FBB were put into bat first and battled to put together any partnerships.
With some resistance coming in the form of Waseem Mohammed, scoring 24 (24) and Babulall with 15 (15) they could only manage 102/8 in their allotted 20 overs. Best bowler for Aster was Sheetal with three wickets for only eight runs in his four over spell. Aster did not waste time needing less than a run a ball to reach the target set and with controlled batting proceeded with the task ahead.
Waseem Mohammed with two wickets for 21 runs in his four overs would not be enough and the game would be finished off by Muneer 20 (26) with four overs to spare giving Aster the win by eight wickets.
Other contributions with the bat for Aster came from Prenay 29 (21) and Nikhil not out with 29 (21).
