On Saturday, Estcourt Golf Club hosted the last Monthly Mug of the year. A big thank you to Barend and his team from Mortimer Toyota who stood by the club for another year sponsoring this monthly fixture.

This was also a very important day for the top six golfers in the Grand Prix section of the mug as any of them still had a chance to win the 2018 Grand Prix.
In the end, Luke Schiever with an impressive -1 on the day won the mug with a net 64.
Second went to Ismail Jnr on 67 nett, third was Philip Boshoff also on a 67 nett.  Paul Wagenaar won the closest to the pin on number three and also made sure he sunk the birdie putt for a well-deserved birdie. George van Niekerk and Willem Erasmus managed a two club each, both on number 16, but the most impressive two club on the day was when Philip Boshoff chipped in for an eagle on number 10.

Mukie Ghasitha won the closest for two on the second and booked the last spot on next year’s shoot out. 
With Philip securing third in the mug and Gordon Smith, who was leading the Grand Prix, only managed the fifth spot, meant that Philip overtook Gordon and won the 2018 Grand Prix by a single point.
The top three in the 2018 Grand Prix are as follows: Philip Boshoff – 64 points, Gordon Smith – 63 and Rajen Goodoon on 55.
