Festive play at Estcourt Golf Club

This was also the last competition Wilfie Laatz played before setting off to Waterfall

On December 29, Estcourt Golf Club hosted its last competition of the year, it was decided to add a little twist to round off a great year of golf.

The whole field played off the red tees, which meant huge cuts in the handicaps, the format, a betterball with both scores to count.

Winning on the day, the husband and wife team, Arnold and Gail Boettiger on 78 points, second place went to Viren Omardath and Kammy Baboolal on 70 points.

Closest to the pin on number three went to Luke Schiever, Wilfie Laatz had a two club on number 11 and Darren Wortmann on number 16.  Dave Diedrick and George van Niekerk won the jackpot with 13 points.

On January 5, Estcourt Golf Club hosted the Mortimer Monthly Mug. First place went to Owen McLuckie who scored nett 70, followed by David Diedrick in second place on nett 71 and third place went to Rajen Goodoon on nett 72.

A well-played game by all.  Golfers are looking forward to the Skaap Dag competition to be played on January 26.
