Top golfers to take to Dundee course on Sunday
The Open, now in the 90th year of the tournament, attracts all the best amateur golfers from around the province to compete over 36 holes
Dundee Country Club is proud to once again host the Northern Natal Open Golf Strokeplay Championships this coming Sunday, January 20.
The Open, now in the 90th year of the tournament, attracts all the best amateur golfers from around the province to compete over 36 holes, and the club thanks Brian du Toit and Farmers Agri- Care Dundee for their continued support for sponsoring this major event.
This past Saturdays 4 B.B.B.S. club competition saw 33 players competing on a really hot summer day with Sifiso Kunene and Cyril Mkhwanazi taking top honours to win the competition with 46 points. Father and son, Braam and Jurich Botes, finished second with 45 points, while the pairing of Bertie Venter and Coenie Munro took home the third prize with 44 points. There were three players who recorded a 2 Club on the day, and they were Jo Khumalo on No.4, Billy Francis No.12 and Bertie Venter on the 16th hole.
Anthon Raubenheimer and Razak Khan were both fortunate enough to score eleven points on the allocated jackpot holes to each earn themselves some extra cash.
This week’s fixtures: Dave’s Wednesday competition, Friday Chicken Run and Saturday’s club competition will be an I.P.S. format. Golfers are to please note that the golf course will be closed from 2pm on Saturday for preparation of the NKZN Open Champs on Sunday. The golf course is closed for all social golf on Sunday.
