No mugs on the green these golfers

A reasonably good field of 41 golfers turned up at Dundee Country Club on Saturday to compete in the February Monthly Mug and the Mug of Mugs for 2018 competition.

Saturday’s competition gave all the players, who won a Monthly Mug during 2018, to be in contention to win the coveted trophy of Mug of Mugs in their respective divisions. It was very coincidental that each of Saturday’s winners for the February 2019 Mug were all winners of a Mug during 2018 so all three players went home with not only the February Mug but also the trophy for Mug of Mugs for 2018.

They were Jo Khumalo Men’s ‘A’ division with a net score of 70, the Men’s ‘B’ division was won by Marc Bradbury also with a nett 70, while the ladies winner was Lorien De Wit.

There were no winners of the jackpot, however, Sifiso Kunene was the only player to record a 2 Club on the day and take home a little extra cash.
Friday’s 11 holes “Chicken Run” saw nine players taking part with Lorien De Wit winning the competition with 24 individual points and Sifiso Kunene picking up the second prize on 23 points.

This Saturday’s club competition will be an individual bonus bogey event with the following Saturday, February 16, being the first of the Windhoek Pairs competition, a 4 BBBS format with the winners going through to compete in the Regional finals. Players are requested to check the notice board for more details with regards to this competition.

The KZN SAPS Inter-Regional League was held in Dundee on Friday with Phumlani Mbele and C Khan taking the honours in the A Division. Phumlani was also crowned 2018 player of the year. L Sibisi and Morgan took the B Division honours. Wayne Bezuidenhout won the Stabelford with C van Tonder second.
