Inclement weather halts play in Estcourt

A heavy thunderstorm on Saturday afternoon disrupted play

The Umtshezi Cricket Association’s league games have been delighting cricket fans during the past months. The local teams have been battling it out on the cricket pitch, in an effort to secure the title of champions at the upcoming Round Robin Tournament, a date has not been determined yet.

This past weekend however, the weather had the last say. On Saturday Colita and Aster took to the pitch with intentions of a cracking game.

Both teams were competing in a 30 over match. Just hours after the teams took to the field, strong wind and heavy rain pelted down.

The game has to be abandoned.

On Sunday the pitch condition was not conducive to play so the match was postponed.
