Gearing up for the Winter Sports Challenge

The Endumeni Winter Sports Challenge draws closer day by day with cycling and skipping being the biggest attractions this year.
Learners from nine schools will be competing in soccer, cricket, netball, chess, boxing, skipping and cycling, each eager to bring the bragging honours back to their schools.
The girls will this year be competing in the soccer event as well. Learners competing in cycling are urged to use casual shoes eg. takkies.
“A huge thanks to KZN Cycling Development for supplying the bicycles and helmets for the cycling event as well as the Department of Education and Thandwangubani ‘Skipping Champ’ Nxumalo for being part of this major annual event. Thank you to Pat Sithole as well for supplying his sound system,” said organiser, Ash Khan.

The Winter Sports Challenge, now in its twelfth year, will take place from the April 11-14 at the Kallies Stadium, Dundee.
There will also be a new ride at this year’s event which will be added to the armband. Armbands can be bought at R100 for April 11 and 12. The price of armbands includes entry and free unlimited rides at the funland. No alcohol, weapons or drugs will be allowed at the event and any person caught will be dealt with harshly by the law, as this is a family fun weekend.
