Crushers true to their name in Buffalo Coal Squash League
There were 25 players who took part in five teams and it was wonderful to see the lovely support and enthusiasm.
The Buffalo Coal Squash League has finished and players marked the occasion with a braai and lots of fellowship at the Dundee Country Club.
The Squash Club thanks Kevern Mattison and Buffalo Coal for the wonderful sponsorship of this league!

There were 25 players who took part in five teams and it was wonderful to see the lovely support and enthusiasm.
There were three individual players who performed extremely well: Nozipho Mhlotshwa from team 1 (Crushers), Weon du Plooy from team 1 (Crushers) and KP Smith from team 3 (Roof Bolters).

It was a three-way tie, so the winner was determined on individual points earned from each game. The trophy was awarded to KP Smith for being the most valuable player of the league.
In 5th place: Team 4 (Dozers – Morne Mare, Dawid Labuschagne, Hanno vd Berg, Nicolette v Rensburg, Carla Pretorius) on 33 points;
In 4th place: Team 5 (The Face Drills – Kevin Donaldson, Shakeel Kalideen, Theuns Ferreira, Nazir Khan, Daniel Mostert) on 41 points;
In third place: Team 2 (The Scoops – Sifiso Kunene, Guy Slater, Andre Karsten, Graham Peddie, Corne Janse van Rensburg) on 53 points;
In Second place: Team 3 (Roof Bolters – Zhane Qwabe, Bud Steenkamp, Weon du Plooy, KP Smith, Denise Oosthuizen) on 59 points.
Roof Bolters finished second based on a count out against Crushers. The night these two teams weighed their strength against each other, the Roof Bolters only managed a mere 11 points compared to the Crushers who crushed the opposition, earning 24 points on the night.

Walter du Plessis of the Squash Club encouraged anyone who is interested in playing squash to come and join the next league which will start on April 2.
“We would also like to thank the DCC for allowing us to use their premises for our prize-giving. It was a wonderful evening filled with lots of laughter, fun and lengthy (sometimes quite humorous) squash anecdotes. Thanks to all who attended.”
