Anglers can dust off their fishing rods and tackle boxes for a worthy cause this coming weekend. In aid of the Estcourt Hospice Association and Forderville Primary School, a Carp Fishing Competition will take place at Wagendrift Dam on March 24.

All are welcome to enjoy an incredible family day at the picturesque dam while cheering the competitors on.
No boats will be allowed, the competition is for shoreline anglers only.

The competition will kick off at 6am and end at 2pm. Your ticket will get you a pass at the dam entrance.
Entrants must note that fishing will take place in a restricted area and all fish will be caught, weighed and released.

Hourly prizes will be given as well as lucky draw prizes; a cash prize of R1 500 is up for grabs for the heaviest carp.

“Not only will you be enjoying an afternoon of fishing but also supporting a worthy cause so come and join us,” said one of the organisers Anil Sookraj excitedly.
