Soccer enthusiasts were in for a treat over the weekend, as the SAB Play-Offs were held in Estcourt and Wembezi.

After a competitive season, the teams went head-to-head in Group A and Group B.  The hard work on and off the field culminated in the final on Sunday at the Wembezi Stadium.

Spectators filled the stands and loudly rooted for their favourite team.  In a tightly-contested final, Wembezi Royal Tigers played against Loskop Seskhona.

Fast dribbling manoeuvres and lots of opportunities to score had the crowd on the edge of their seats.

Home ground advantage seemed to be the deciding factor on the day, with Wembezi Royal Tigers keeping a clean sheet and putting four goals past the Loskop Seskhona goalkeeper to emerge as the victors.

Final score: 4-0 in favour of Wembezi Royal Tigers. There was jubilation all around as the home team lifted the trophy.

Tigers will go on to represent the Uthukela region in the Provincial Play-Offs in Port Shepstone on June 14, 15 and 16.  The team aims to advance to the ABC Motsepe League.
