A successful round of golf for the Smiths
Warren and Graham’s consistent play saw them claim the top spot
36 golfers took to the course in perfect weather conditions for the Richmond family / Estcourt Wagon Works Skaapdag on February 25.
With a Combined Stableford format being played, we’re sure that a good few partnerships came under a lot of scoring stress, but most importantly, excitement and fun permeated throughout the playing field.
Scoring 72 points, the father-and-son combination of Warren and Graham Smith were rewarded for their consistent play by claiming first position. Graham, also pivoting with Gordon Smith, made it a first and second finish for the Smiths, scoring 68 points with Gordon. Melton Schiever and Harry Koovarjee took the honours for third, scoring 67 points.
With the generosity of the sponsors, prizes went down the field to 11th position. Two-clubs went to: no. 3 – Mark ‘Sport’ Gillitt; and no. 7 – Melton Schiever. Closest to the pins: no. 3 – ‘Sport’; and no. 16 – Gerhard Reynders. Harry Koovarjee and Melton won the jackpot on 18 points.
