Runners will test their endurance at the Comrades Marathon

It's a 'down run', starting at the City Hall in Pietermaritzburg and finishing in Durban

June 11 will mark the 96th running of the world’s biggest, oldest and most famous ultra-marathon, the Comrades. The official route distance this year is 87.701km.

It’s a ‘down run’, starting at the City Hall in Pietermaritzburg and finishing in Durban. Billed as the ‘Ultimate Human Race’, runners are put through their paces on a route that offers both highlights and challenges.

Look out for the following local runners who will be on the route: Nina Gogh, Khulani Dube, Ewart Hadebe, Siyabonga Mbatha, David Mhlanga, Zanele Mnguni, Bhekumuzi Mntambo, Henry Mvelase, Zacks Ndlovu, Jane Schiever, Xolani Sibiya, Mark Winter, Mandla Zondo and Israel Zuma.

Here’s wishing these runners all the best at this year’s Comrades Marathon.
