Angling club spends the day at Spioenkop

It was a beautiful day out on the banks of Spioenkop Dam and a first for some of the anglers

Umtshezi Angling Club members were at it again; this time taking their league event out of town. Spioenkop was the choice for a league outing on May 28 and it didn’t disappoint.

The members didn’t have to wait long for the bites to take, even with the temperature being low. Overall, it was a beautiful day out on the banks of Spioenkop Dam and a first for some of the anglers.

Founding member Dharam Sewraj pulled out the ‘beauty’ of the day – a 4.470kg carp.

The day’s catches and points were as follows:
Ajay – four fish, total bag 4.675, 22.7 points.
Dharam – two fish, total bag 4.780, 21.12 points.
Mickey – three fish, total bag 2.290, 12.16 points.
The calculation was as follows: total bag weight ÷ 0.250 + number of fish caught = points.
