Estcourt golfers win first leg of Zulu Shield

Along with the Zulu Shield, the Estcourt club also hosted a better-ball competition

This past weekend saw the first leg of the Zulu Shield take place.
This event is a competition between Estcourt Golf Club and Mooi River Country Club.
Along with the Zulu Shield, the Estcourt club also hosted a better-ball competition.

The results are as follows:
First were A Boettiger and G Boettiger on a 45-point count-out.
Second place went to D Ramdhav and M Ghasitha, also on 45 points (count-out).
The third- and fourth-placed teams notched up 45 points as well, with O Mcluckie and H Koovarjee snatching third while J Brown and C Brown had to settle for fourth on the count-out.
Closest to the pin on no. 12 was J Brown.
Three two-clubs were carded, which belonged to O Mcluckie, T Hume and J Brown, all on no. 16.
Zulu Shield results: Estcourt – 457 points; and Mooi River – 442 points.
This meant that Estcourt won the first leg by 15 points.

The next leg of the Zulu Shield will take place in Mooi River in September.
