Residents reassured of police’s commitment to serve

The Imbizo was held to strengthen cooperation between the police, the CPF, and the community of Mokwallo.

SAPS District Commissioner, Major General Makubo, engaged with the community of Mokwallo during an Imbizo at the Mokwallo Multipurpose Centre on Friday. The engagement was attended by the Community Police Forum (CPF), representatives from Ngwathe Local Municipality, traffic officials, and various other stakeholders.
Aimed at strengthening cooperation between the police, the CPF, and the community, the Imbizo provided a platform for residents to raise concerns and offer suggestions.
Major General Makubo introduced the Vredefort Station Management team and the Vredefort CPF executive committee to attendees, highlighting the critical role played by CPF members and community patrollers in enhancing safety.
He explained that CPF activities are guided by structured meetings involving community members in partnership with the SAPS. He also encouraged community patrollers to remain active, noting their work as a vital pillar of community safety.
Stakeholders delivered messages of support, all underscoring the importance of community–police collaboration in maintaining order.
In his keynote address, Major General Makubo expressed appreciation for the community’s feedback and reassured residents of the police’s commitment to serve. He emphasized that every community member is entitled to SAPS services and advised residents to report any concerns regarding police conduct to IPID.
Makubo reaffirmed the collective commitment to ensuring that Mokwallo remains a safe and crime-free community.
