The Alliance Française of Johannesburg  present an Exhibition by Marion Boehm: “Silent Beauty”.

“Silent Beauty” wants to celebrate a kind of natural beauty, which doesn’t seek for applause. It doesn’t appear in glamour magazines, it isn’t constructed, often not even recognized.

It’s an inner beauty, which comes deep from inside, showing dignity of soul, strength, resilience, truthfulness and authenticity.

Photos often show the outward beauty of models posing or trying to find the most glamorous moments of celebrities. Women are traditionally conditioned to accentuate their beauty, to present themselves always in the best light.

Africa beauty appears without preparation, without warning and without an audience in mind. It appears naturally without aiming to be captured … and often silently escapes with the moment
