Laerskool Fontainebleau took part in the 2015 Gauteng Provincial Chess Championship on 28 August. The competition was held at Hoërskool Waterkloof in Pretoria.

Over the last year, chess teams from many schools took part in various chess leagues. Accumulated points were considered and teams from across the province participated in the championship by invitation only.

Grade 3 pupil Adriaan Mostert won the Best Player award with straight wins on his board. Grade 2 pupils Ethan Bester and Nita Fitton also won all of their games.
