Grand Design Live show impresses audiences
NORTH RIDING – South Africa's leading home, design and garden show attracted various exhibitors and decor fans.
The Grand Design Live show attracted a number of decor enthusiasts from all over at Ticketpro Dome. This year the show was made possible by Black and Deker in association with Hot 91.9 FM.
South Africa’s leading contemporary home, design and garden show took place over the weekend from 20–22 May. People had the opportunity to learn the latest trends locally and internationally. There were various exhibitors offering interactive workshops and displaying the products. Some of these include Grand Garden, Rand Water, Grand Interiors, Easylife Kitchens and The South African Chefs Association exhibits.
Water Wise senior horticulturalist, Mulao Mphaphuli, said that her organisation deals with landscaping and watering of plants. The Water Wise Garden theatre was turned into an informative place where people could engage with speakers.
“Water Wise brand falls under Rand Water which is an environmental brand that is used to raise awareness on the use of water and it’s value. One of the topics we are raising at the expo is the use of water in the garden, so far we have had a great response from audiences,” said Mphaphuli.
The Easylife Kitchens Celebrity Chefs theatre hosted celebrity chefs who included Adrian Vaughn, Jonathan Roos and Minette Smith. The chefs demonstrated and shared recipes on how to create the perfect meal in your own kitchen.
Business owner Andrew Horne who specialises in making metal art said that the expo gives them the opportunity to interact with potential customers and he has received great feedback from people. He added that he makes art pieces, doors, religious symbols and custom-made products from steel.
Candice Fesenmeier said she found the expo interesting this year although it was not as full as previous years. “I enjoyed the garden and food section the most. This year there is much more variety and offers a better shopping experience,” said Fesenmeier.
