New feature at taxi rank

According to Media Sync 5 000 taxis and 250 000 people use the Randburg Taxi Rank every day.

A new 3×9-metre high definition (HD) screen is being installed at the Randburg Taxi Rank.

”As far as I know it is the first HD screen in a taxi rank in South Africa,” said Tshepo Mofokeng of the installation company, Media Sync. ”The screen will provide affordable high quality advertising for small

and medium sized businesses in the area, entertainment and public service announcements.

“There will also be an interactive feature, say if someone wants to propose to his girlfriend he can do it on the screen.” The screen will be positioned at the entrance to the rank and the installation will be completed by the end of January.

According to Media Sync the screen incorporates new technology that reduces pixelation and enhances high definition. Mofokeng said he thought people would like the screen. ”As people come into the rank and go home they will have something to look at,” he said.
