A hockey success

The Southern Gauteng Hockey Association in Randburg had its first junior players training for 2014.

The Southern Gauteng Hockey Association in Randburg has officially begun its training for junior players.

“We have the best hockey coaches with full Gauteng colours, therefore offering the best training programme,” said Josie Milella, training co-ordinator and the association’s spokesperson.

Milella encouraged those who were interested in the sport to join the club because this would prepare the players for professional teams, and to help them improve in their teams at school. “We welcome people from the age of five to 17. We start training them at an early age so that they are built for the sport. The first junior practice has created a good idea for those who have just joined to know what to expect at practice.”

Training for the juniors will be held every Saturday from 8am to 11am.

“We invite people to watch some of the hockey action at the Super Cup 2014 tournament taking place from 14 March to 15 March at the Randburg Hockey Stadium,” added Millella.
