RANDPARK RIDGE – Modelling Showcase held at Rhema Bible Church North.
Figures Models Randburg hosted a modelling showcase at Rhema Bible Church North, Randpark Ridge.
The agency’s intern, Shantal Dietrich (17) hosted the event and models included her colleagues, personal friends and youth of the church.
“It is not normally appropriate to host modelling showcases at church,” said Shawn Dietrich, Dietrich’s father and logistics co-ordinator at the church. “But nowadays modelling teaches girls good posture and how to articulate well. It is about manners and dignity, so it is good for the youth.”
He said the church had hosted fashion shows before. The showcase was part of Dietrich’s drive to recruit men and women models for the agency.
“Interns from different branches compete for the most recruits and the winner goes to the International Modelling and Talent Association Convention in New York in July for free,” Dietrich said.
“There will be 400 international agencies scouting there and they could offer a job.”
RnB and gospel musician Loyiso Bala performed at the showcase and Rhino SA was in attendance, educating people about rhino poaching.
