Missing parachute
VICTORY PARK – Parachute malfunctions, is released somewhere in Victory Park.
A parachute is missing following malfunction during a demonstration jump at a Crossroads School carnival, Victory Park, on 19 March.
Ben Greyling, Peter Hughes and Ricci Bucceri, jumped from 2 000 feet above ground level when they experienced problems with the main parachute and had to release it.
They landed safely with his reserve parachute on 1st Avenue, Victory Park, and estimate that the main parachute landed within 1km of the school.
Greyling asked anyone who may find it to return it to him, along with other smaller parachute, for a R500 reward.
“There is also a small spring-loaded pilot chute attached to a bag with a long bridal used to activate the reserve chute,” explains Greyling.
“This is separate from the main parachute and is white. It should have landed close to the main parachute.”
The main parachute has light blue, purple and black stripes.
