Church opens doors to talented youth

RANDPARK RIDGE – Annual youth talent competition to be held at Rhema Bible Church North.

Rhema Bible Church North, Randpark Ridge, is hosting its popular annual youth talent competition, Fight Night.

The seventh edition of the competition promises to attract some of Randburg’s most talented youth, as the grand prize is R5 000, and the last eight contestants all receive mentorship from professionals in the final stages.

Participation in the event is free, but one must be between the ages of 13 and 21.

Attendance of the event is also free.

The event kicks off with an open audition at 9am on 5 July, round two is on 12 July, round three is on 19 July, the top eight are mentored by professionals on 26 July, and the finale is held on 1 August.

“Different talents have won this competition,” said David Mutendji, one of the organisers and MC.

“A beatboxer won once; poets, a dancer, a singer have all won. Last year a marimba band from Sparrow Village won. The quality increases every year.”

Registrations for participation in the event close on 29 June, and professionals are not allowed to compete.
