Johannesburg Water rapidly responds

RANDPARK – Resident praises municipal water entity for only taking three days to respond to leak.

Randpark Ext 5 resident Des Foley compliments Johannesburg Water for quickly responding to a water leak outside a property on Stableford Road on 3 July.

This just days after thousands of nearby residents were without running water, or saw their properties flooded , due to a burst water pipe in Suikerbos Avenue, Randpark Ridge, between 30 June and 2 July.

Foley explained that a water meter was not fully tightened and caused the leak on 29 June.

The leak was reported to Johannesburg Water and three days later, on 3 July, the entity’s workers repaired the meter.

“We managed to notice the leak before it developed into anything serious,” Foley said.

“City Water did not know how serious or not the leak was, so it was the response time that I [am] complimenting.”
