National Science Week careers day at Thandulwazi Saturday School
A science-based careers day held at Thandulwazi Saturday School draws in 400 students.
About 400 Grade 10 and 11 students attended a career day held at Thandulwazi Saturday School on 2 August for National Science Week.
The event centered on science-based careers with speakers such as engineers of Eskom, SAPS forensic investigator and the MD of Sensarome.
A number of institutions and companies attended the event such as University of theWitwatersrand , University of Pretoria, IMM, the SAADP (South African Actuarial Development Programme) Eskom and Standard Bank.
They set up stands where students could source information about courses on offer, study opportunities, bursaries and learnerships available.
Thandulwazi Maths and Science Academy was established by St Stithians Foundation in 2006 and it is well placed to offer an educational intervention programme to maximise the learning and teaching of core subjects.
