‘Randjies’ wear bandanas for a good cause

RANDBURG - Pupils of Hoërskool Randburg sold more than 300 bandanas as part of their cancer initiative.

Hoërskool Randburg is regularly involved in various charity programmes and this year, pupils went out in force to support the Sunflower Foundation.

Leandri Behrens, a Sunflower Foundation volunteer and Grade 8 pupil at the school, took the initiative to involve the school and fellow pupils in the organisation which supports leukaemia sufferers and research.

More than 300 bandanas were sold at the school which the pupils proudly wore on Bandana Day and all proceeds were donated to the Sunflower Foundation on 17 October.

Pupils said that they felt privileged to be part of this humanitarian effort in order to help other young people who suffer from these feared blood-related diseases.
