New ward committee member elected

Ward 115 Councillor Chris Santana was upbeat after they elected a new committee member for the transport sector on 22 January.

Charles Kuhn was elected to the transport portfolio.

Santana explained that the election process is guided by the Electoral Act.

“This is a non-political process, and only people who live within Ward 115 are eligible to vote. We have our monthly committee meetings and that is when we can elect a member position,”explained Santana.

The councillor added that there are two more vacant positions on the Ward 115 committee.

The vacant posts are in Finance and Community Development (for sports and culture).

The next ward committee meeting will be held on 5 February.
