Car burns in Randpark Ridge

RANDPARK RIDGE - Driver helpless as vehicle bursts into flame.

RANDPARK RIDGE – A car burnt down for no apparent reason on Ysterhout Drive, Randpark Ridge, in the afternoon on 13 April. No one was hurt. Metro Police and VitalMed attended to the scene. The owner of the car, Victor Tumelo, said that he and his wife were travelling west, from Rabie Street, when smoke started rising from the bonnet.

“By the time I stopped and tried to open the bonnet it was already burning,” he said, visibly shaken. The incident left the pavement littered with burnt plastic and rubber, and a foul smell in the air. Tumelo added that his car was serviced in March.
