PRESIDENT RIDGE – Randburg Spruit gets spruced up and cleared by Block Watch and Randburg SAPS reservists.

Litter on Randburg Spruit and the Republic Road Park was cleaned up by Masimu Block Watch and the Randburg Police on 17 July.

The spruit was covered with all sorts of litter, from paper to bottles and even an abandoned TV and a suitcase.

Security company Block Watch and the Randburg Police reservists took it upon themselves to collect mounds of bags filled to the brim with rubbish, for Mandela Day.

Dewald Buys of Masimu Block Watch said, “We have been cleaning main areas like Beyers Naudé Drive and Northumberland Avenue and now at the Randburg Spruit. This is all in aid to keeping our communities cleaner and safer.”

Captain Brent Kur of Randburg Reservists commented, “It is great to see a small number of people coming together with us to help make our spruit beautiful again.”
