Randburg Police officer arrested for dealing dagga
KENSINTON B – CCTV footage allegedly revealed a Randburg Police officer dealing dagga at the Randburg Magistrates' Court on 11 August.
A Randburg Police officer was arrested on 11 August around 2pm for allegedly smuggling dagga in court.
The accused works at the Randburg Magistrates’ Court and he was arrested while on duty – and charged with dealing with dagga.
This came to light when the accused was caught on a CCTV camera.
It is alleged that the police officer was arrested with dagga which weighed 1kg.
According to Randburg Police Station spokesperson Constable Stanley Bopape, the police officer appeared in court on 12 August.
“I can confirm that a policeman was arrested, however, he was released on bail and we are still investigating his case,” said Const Bopape.
