Crime incidents discussed in a police meeting

KENSINGTON B – According to Randburg Police, the level of crime incidents in the precinct has dropped.

The Randburg Police Community Policing Forum (CPF) held their first annual meeting at Randburg Police Station on the evening of 20 January.

The drop in crime rate and safety in the community were among some of the issues discussed by the police with the community stakeholders including resident associations and community policing forums (CPFs).

Police spokesperson Constable Stanley Bopape said the meeting focused mainly on the crime incidents of last year. “Crime incidents such as theft, robberies and

housebreaking have significantly dropped in the Randburg precinct,” he explained.

The Randburg Trauma Centre Head CPF and Colonel Andries Odendaal received vouchers to spend a weekend away with their families at the Tsogo Sun Hotels and Resorts.

According to Const Bopape, Brig Jones also thanked the CPFs for positively working with police to curb crime.
