Wendy house burned to ashes
BORDEAUX – A Randburg Fire Station truck broke down on 1 February and the station is currently relying on other fire stations in the same district.
A fire truck and water tanker from Rosebank and Roosevelt fire stations responded to a fire in Bordeaux when a Wendy house caught fire.
The Wendy house, located outside the main house in Noreen Street, burned to ashes in the morning of 2 February.

There were no injuries reported while reports say there was a man sleeping in the main house when the fire started.
Kelly-Ann van der Meer from Bordeaux North Community Forum explained that residents tried to contact the Randburg Fire Station but to no avail.
“There was a man on the property but when asked what happened, he only said that he was sleeping,” she explained.
Fire fighters allegedly only arrived an hour after they were called by various residents on the same street.
Van der Meer further explained that when the fire fighters arrived, the damage was already considerable and they did not know what could have caused the fire.
Joburg Emergency Management Services (EMS) spokesperson Robert Mulaudzi explained that the fire truck from Randburg Fire Station broke down on 1 February.

He further explained that the truck was being repaired and that it should be back sometime this week.
“When we are confronted with these incidents, we immediately inform adjacent stations to assist by responding to all emergencies within the precinct,” he said.
Mulaudzi concluded that there were small emergency vehicles at the Randburg Fire Station that would respond to all emergencies while waiting for trucks from other stations to arrive.
