Rand Park Ext 4 and Bloubosrand residents experience water interruptions

RAND PARK – Joburg Water warns Rand Park Ext 4 and Bloubosrand residents of a planned water interruption that will last the day.

Joburg Water wants residents to be aware of a planned water interruption that started on the morning of 9 March in Randpark Ridge and Bloubosrand.

Various streets of Bloubosrand will have no water between 8am to 6pm while various residents of Rand Park Ext 4 will have no water between 8am to 8pm. Restoration for both areas is set to be 6pm to 8pm.

Water tanks have been placed at designated locations for Bloubosrand residents:

  • Corner of Rooipeper Street and Drommedaris Avenue
  • Corner of Centaurus and Drommedaris avenues
  • Corner of Heerlem Place and Voorschoten Street
  • Corner Schiedam Avenue and Agulhas Road

Residents are reminded that level-2 water restrictions are still in place and must be adhered to.

According to section 44 (3) of the Water Services Bylaw, level-2 water restrictions states that all consumers are forthwith compelled:

  • Not to water and irrigate their gardens from 6am to 6pm every day
  • Not to fill their swimming pools with municipal water
  • Not to use hosepipes to wash their cars and paved areas.

Water saving tips:

  • Don’t leave taps dripping
  • Take shallow baths
  • Use bathwater or greywater to water the garden.

Joburg Water urged residents to remain active partners in reducing the quantity of water used in the City of Joburg, and to report any form of vandalism and theft of water infrastructure to 080 000 2587.
