Randpark Ridge water cuts

RANDPARK RIDGE - Residents are urged to keep water aside as planned water cuts will happen in Randpark Ridge on 6 July.

As residents from Bloubosrand heave a sigh of relief as water is restored to their neighbourhood, Randpark Ridge residents must now brace themselves as Johannesburg Water (JW)  announces that it will cut the water supply for Randpark Ridge for a water tie-in.

Spokesperson for the water utility, Tidimalo Chuene, said they expected the water to be cut from 8:30 am until 5pm on 6 July. She added that just a few streets would be affected.

“Rankdoring Avenue, Kwikstert Close, Korhaan Street as well as Wonderboom and Peperboom avenues will be affected. We will be sending out updates throughout the day on our various social media platforms, enabling residents to stay up to date,” she said.

She pointed out that water tankers would be available throughout the day but urged residents to save enough water to get them through the day. “Residents are strongly advised to store water in portable containers to lessen the inconvenience of the shutdown,” Chuene explained.

“Residents are reminded that level-2 water restrictions are still in place and must be adhered to. Due to the cold weather, the stipulated times that residents are not allowed to water and irrigate their gardens has changed from 6am until 6pm to 8am until 4pm every day ” Chuene added. She explained that with most schools closed, this presented an opportune period for parents to get their children to be active partners in saving water.
