A fête of all fêtes

ROBIN HILLS – Fun and games were to be had at the Kings School Robin Hills Spring Festival.

Pupils, teachers and parents flocked to The Kings School Robin Hills sports field to enjoy the school’s annual Spring Festival.

There were games to be played and plenty of food to be eaten and plenty of enjoyment all around as the Grade 7, 8 and 9 pupils hosted this year’s fundraiser.

Sharon Agnew from the school said that the annual affair was a very joyful occasion with lots of fun, food and fellowship for the whole family. “The Grade 7, 8 and 9 pupils were tasked with the job of creating games of skill for the rest of the school to enjoy and win prizes,” she explained.

“These carnival-style games formed part of their Life Orientation assessment. The pupils have learnt project and resource management, along with developing problem-solving skills and promoting teamwork.”

She pointed out that the event drew a high level of parental involvement and as they took turns to sell hot food while they enjoyed the live band and tea garden. Agnew added that pupils enjoyed the games, face painting and balloon sculpturing, cake, candy, candy floss and ice-cream with toppings.

Tyla Rippin a pupil from Grade 7 explained that she had been looking forward to the day for a long time as it was her first time being involved in the Spring Festival. “We have created stalls as groups from the various classes and the group with the most points will win at the end of the day,” she explained.

She added that no money was used as people had exchanged their money for tickets.
