Knife-wielding robber warning

KENSINGTON B – Randburg police urges residents to avoid walking alone after a man was robbed of his possession during the day.

Randburg police are pleading with residents to be alert when walking alone after a man was robbed at knife-point on the corner of Bram Fischer Drive and Jan Smuts Avenue.

Spokesperson for Randburg Police Station, Captain Makgowanyana Maja, said the robbery happened around 1pm when the victim was approached by three suspects.

“The victim alleged that he was robbed of his cellphone and cash after he was threatened with a knife by the robbers who demanded he hand over his belongings. After he was robbed the suspects then ran away,” Maja explained

He further urged residents to walk in groups to the taxi rank or alternatively arrange staff transport to avoid being robbed if they are working late at night.
