Tristan Smyth, the 12-year-old boy that survived close to 24 hours in the Magaliesberg mountains on 15 October, had a search party of 30 people and two helicopters searching for him.
His mother, Anita Smyth, would like to thank the following organisations and rescuers that helped and treated him:
- Mountain Club of South Africa Search and Rescue
- Netcare 911
- SAPS airwing
- SAPS North West K9 Unit
- Mountain Sanctuary Park
- Off Road Rescue Unit
- Lonmin Surface Rescue
- The farmers that found him, Johan and Thea Naude.
“And everyone else I forgot to mention,” she said.
