Four year old dies after falling out of window
FLEURHOF - The boy died after being taken to hospital.
A 4-year-old boy has died after he fell out of a window from the third storey of a building in Fleurhof, ER24 said.
Spokesperson Chitra Bodasing said the boy died after the injuries he sustained on Sunday, 11 December.
“Fire and Rescue, as well as ER24 paramedics attended to the child. Upon assessment by paramedics, it was found that the boy sustained multiple injuries and was in a critical condition,” she said.
However, while at hospital, the child’s condition worsened and despite efforts to resuscitate him, he sadly passed away.
Bodesing said the circumstances surrounding the child’s fall are unknown.
Earlier this month, a mother allegedly threw her 5-year-old son from the balcony of their fifth floor apartment in Hillbrow. Minutes later, she threw herself off the same balcony. Both were declared dead on the scene. The incident is also still under investigation
