FNB safety deposit box heist robbers in the dock

KENSINGTON B – The FNB heist mystery comes full circle as two suspects appear in the Randburg Magistrates' Court.

KENSINGTON B – Two suspects appeared in Randburg Magistrates’ Court on 6 February on charges of robbery, allegedly linked to the FNB heist which happened over the festive season.

According to the spokesperson for the Hawks, Captain Ndivhuwo Mulamu, the investigation team worked around the clock and nabbed the suspects on 2 February in Centurion.

Both suspects, aged 40, worked as security guards for Chubb Security. Mulamu confirmed that the two suspects pulled off the robbery by using the resources they used in their jobs.

“During the arrest, police recovered an unlicensed firearm and ammunition from one of the suspects, who will appear again in Randburg Magistrates’ Court for a formal bail hearing,” Mulamu said.

The suspects were charged with business robbery and possession of an unlicensed firearm.
