Hot 91.9 FM DJ experiences an adrenaline rush
NORTH RIDING – The Airlink Adrenaline team took Hot 91.9 FM DJ Martinengo for an adrenaline rush which he has never experienced before.
This year’s Airlink Adrenaline Show promises a phenomenal and unique experience, better than the previous show with more acts added to the line-up.
The Airlink Adrenaline Team took Hot 91.9 FM DJ Saha Martinengo for an adrenaline rush which he has never experienced before. Martinengo flew in the skies above the radio’s studio with a live video feed to him on the morning of 2 June. This was done in a partnership between the radio and the Airlink Adrenaline Show to promote the show in the Johannesburg area.
The air show will be held at the Wonderboom National Airport from 9 to 11 June. The show boss, Christian Maiorana said this year’s show was set to be bigger and better with acts that have never been seen at any air show in South Africa.

For the first time, the South African Air Force (SAAF) will be participating and there will be the up-and-over, an air show act that sees a motorbike backflip over an aircraft as it flies under the bike. “We have seen car shows and air shows but this is the supershow that combines all those things,” he said.

Maiorana said their partnership with Hot 91.9 FM was giving them great exposure at the Johannesburg market.
Hot 91.9 station managing director, Lloyd Madurai said the best way to give the show exposure was to put the DJ in the air. “We wanted to do something new for Hot 91.9 and we thought the adrenaline show would be one way to do it,” he said.
Madurai said when the adrenaline show approached them, they thought about getting DJ Martinengo into the actual plane and flip him around so people can actually see what was going on, instead of just doing a basic interview. “We really took the event and brought it to life over the radio. I think the key thing for me and the entire team is the celebration of the 10 awards we have just won including the Radio Station of the Year,” he said.
Audiences can look forward to watching over 30 air and track performances, new stunts never seen in South Africa, adrenaline jet formation, airforce participation and jet car meltdown.
