Randpark Ridge car-guard receives big donation for new baby

RANDPARK RIDGE – The community has come together to raise much-needed goods to help a local car guard and his newborn baby.

The community has come together to raise much-needed goods to help a local car-guard and his newborn baby.

When asked about why she started the initiative, concerned community member Kerry Schultz said, “I shop at Checkers all the time, and come rain or shine Tresor is always there to help me with my bags.

He is always caring for my kids, always ready with his umbrella, but more than that, he is such a special soul.”

One day Tresor showed Schultz a picture of his newborn baby.

She said that the reason she started this community appeal was that Tresor was battling to provide the necessities for his home.

“He asked me to help, so I bought him baby formula. I really felt for him. Raising a child is always difficult for people who don’t earn that much, and I felt that I needed to reach out to the community and gather some support.”

Community members donated clothes, nappies, toiletries, and toys for the newborn baby and Tresor’s two-year-old child.

Schultz continued, “The amount of donations that we have received for Tresor and his family has been unbelievable. After a small social media post on Facebook, he now has enough goods to last for the next six months.”

On the social media post, a number of community members commented saying how Tresor has made a positive impact on their lives.

The first large donation to the initiative came from local Randburg charity Beanies For Beings’ Megan Botha.

“I contacted Kerry after I saw her Facebook post as, in the previous week, we had handed out donations to seven newborn families who are in a similar situation.”

All donations gathered for the Beanies For Beings charity were donated by the community.

Botha continued, “I asked Kerry how we could help, and that same day we packed a whole lot of goods and met Tresor, gave him a pram, clothing, nappies, toiletries and a whole lot of other things.”

Schultz added, “To see the community come together in such a big way truly makes my heart happy. It shows the kindness of people.”
