Grade 1 learners announcing their arrival

RANDPARK RIDGE – A new beginning at Trinityhouse Randpark Ridge.

RANDPARK RIDGE – The Grade 1 learners at Trinityhouse Randpark Ridge announced their arrival at the school after ringing the school’s bell at their annual bell ringing ceremony.

The ceremony was held early on the morning of 25 January and was attended by Grade 1, 2, 3 and 7 learners and parents. The parents of the Grade 1 learners filled the school’s hall, all of them thrilled and overjoyed to see their precious little ones ringing the bell for the first time.

The bell-ringing ceremony has become a tradition at Trinityhouse. The purpose of the ceremony is to announce the arrival of the Grade 1 learners and the departure of the Grade 7 learners that will leave the school to start their ‘new beginning’ at high school.

The ceremony was kicked off by everybody singing, Our God is an awesome God. Afterwards, Hilton Scott, the principle of the preparatory gave an inspirational speech. “This morning is a very special occasion. Today is a new beginning for you Grade 1s, the day you were born was a new beginning for your parents. Life is full of new beginnings. One day boys and girls, when you finish matric, you will also make a new beginning. Every year we come to school is a new beginning.

“New beginning is part of life and it’s going to happen to you all the time. This will not be the last new beginning of your life.”

The little ones lined up, waited for their names to be called out and then rang the bell before retrieving their framed copy of the school song. All of the learners were over the moon after each one of them had the chance to ring the bell, announcing their arrival.
